Now, this isn’t a SUPER steampunk piece, but the tentacles totally caught my attention. This stood out as a very unique piece. The idea of the top of a vase being made out of tentacles is so interesting. I can just picture flowers coming out between them. The color, while not quite steampunk, is still a beautiful choice. The whole thing is also just wonderfully made. Great inspiration to incorporate tentacles into various steampunk pottery.
I personally don’t have the money, but I definitely wish I did! This cruise looks absolutely fantastic for anyone into steampunk, or just people who are interested in a vacation that’s a little different. There are appearances by people such as Captain Robert Brown and Abney Park and the famous author GD Falksen. Also tons of events and prizes and performances and contests. It’s an annual event that I wish I could go to and for those of you with money, look into it!
But putting aside the opportunity to go on this cruise (because I know I can’t go) I think this is a fantastic idea and has some great ideas for steampunk parties, such as “The Great Mad Scientists Monologue Competition”, the “Vintage Bathing Suit Contest Deck-side” or the “Formal Portraits in your Costumed Best with amazing backdrops and green screen”. So check it out, even if you don’t have the money, because it could provide some great inspiration!
This piece immediately caught my attention as I was scrolling through deviantart. The cute little well-made duck was what made me first click on the piece. Then I noticed it was swimming in a bottle cap lake, which I found to be a fantastic idea. Then I saw that it was a ring and I was blown away. I’ve seen many miniatures made out of clay, being quite jealous at their clay skills, but never have a seen a miniature scene turned into a piece of jewelry like this. The idea is quite inspiring and I love it.
This picture frame is actually just the coolest idea. I have never seen anything even remotely like it. I definitely feel like papier-mâché is underrated. This is a true example of what can be done. The unique vine look around the wonderfully chosen image of Aslan is gorgeous. Very old world looking. Beautifully done. True inspiration of what can be done with papier-mâché.
This might be one of my favorite steampunk pieces I’ve found. I’ve seen a lot of steampunk bugs and spiders made out of wire like this one. However, I think it was very creative to turn it into something practical like a pin cushion. Whenever I make things I try to not let them be just pretty things to sit on a desk, but things to wear or use. This is a perfect illustration of how to turn something so popularly made and put a new spin on it and make it uniquely practical. Beautiful piece to get ideas going for sure.
This is a very unique piece. I love how elaborate it is with the various keys and bottles and chain. It takes from lots of different fantasy styles with the steampunk type gears and the dragon looking eye and the natural moss looking green border and the classy castle looking keys and metal pieces. It combines all of fantasy into one piece quite nicely. The size and convenience of the belt is also very nice. Wonderful piece and beautiful inspiration for those looking to make a fantasy style bag.
Today is the season premiere of Adventure Time! I hope everyone enjoys it, I know I did. Here are a couple Jake craft items to celebrate the occasion.
I like crafts made to look like Jake particularly because in the show Jake can change himself into any shape he wants, so Jake as a hate is actually still just Jake. Both of these pieces are very cute ideas. I find them both to be nice inspiration for future projects.
